I would like to let you know how pleased I am with your company and the attention you pay to your customers. We bought a new house… less than two years ago. According to the builder, your company installed the fireplace and chimney. Shortly after moving in, we noticed… a leak into the fireplace when it would rain. We called The Hayes Company, and they sent a crew out to fix it. Unfortunately, that didn’t resolve the problem. Months later, another crew arrived and worked on it some more. Like the first time, this repair did not stop the rain from leaking in, either. We called a third time, and another crew showed up. We had recently purchased an electric log set from you, and we had no intention of [burning] anything in the fireplace, so I suggested that they simply remove the existing chimney crown and cap and seal it off. They did.
Since the last time they came out and sealed it off, we have had lots of hard rain, and there has not been a single drop of water in the fireplace. During the sometimes torrential downpours, it remained as dry as Melba toast in there. We are completely satisfied and content.
Your company honored the warranty even though it was clearly past the warranty date at the last service call or two. That shows that The Hayes Chimney company stands behind [its] work. A lesser company would have told us, “Too bad! It’s past the warranty date. Here’s your bill.” The crew members were all very polite and let me know just what they were doing each time they were out here. Top-notch employees!
