Commercial Insulation Services by The Hayes Company

Our commercial division provides a wide variety of installation techniques for commercial buildings. We have experience installing insulation on some of the most high profile buildings in the Kansas City and Nashville areas including Arrowhead Stadium, Bartle Hall, the Kansas City Zoo, educational halls at K-State, Great Wolf Lodge, the Richard Bolling Federal Building, St. Luke Mid America Heart Institute, and many multifamily projects.

We understand the importance of staying on time and on budget. As experts in insulation, you know there is no better choice than our team.

K13 Acoustical Spray

K13 is a product that can help with insulation (R-value), condensation control, noise reduction, and more. It is available in a wide range of colors and is a total system that combines chemical treatments, natural fibers, a binding system, and application method.

Acoustical spray insulations are products specifically tailored to meet acoustical, fire, and thermal requirements in exposed applications. They are typically sprayed on ceilings of commercial projects that will not be covered with wallboard, such as restaurants, gymnasiums, churches, etc. Acoustical spray insulation is approved for exposed applications. Certain products have been approved per ASTM as thermal barriers and/or by UL as noncombustible. They are made of fibrous materials and greatly reduce sound transmission and reflection. Acoustical spray Insulation has an R-value of 3 to 4 per inch and fills cracks, seams, and voids.

Ure-K 15-Minute Thermal Barrier

Ure-K is a 15-minute thermal barrier that is approved to be spray-applied over exposed applications of polyurethane foam in existing buildings and new construction projects. Ure-K is not foam insulation. It is made from recycled paper treated with natural flame retardants. The result is an installed product with an exposed finish that also provides acoustic and thermal benefits. Ure-K has a texture similar to K-13. It is available in four standard colors along with custom colors

Fiberglass

Fiberglass batt insulation is the most common and widely used type of insulation. It’s the type that comes to mind for most people when thinking of insulation. Today’s fiberglass insulation is formaldehyde-free, and it is made primarily of recycled materials. Fiberglass batt insulation is available in widths suited to standard spacing of wall studs, and ceiling or floor joists. Blown-in fiberglass insulation can be installed in nearly any space. It can be dense packed into closed cavities.

Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam insulation is a two-in-one product — insulating and air sealing in one step. Spray foam insulation can also increase building strength, helping to increase stability during high winds and severe storms.

  • Open cell spray foam insulation works as an insulator and air barrier. The typical R-value of open cell foam is 3.7 per inch. Open cell spray foam insulation is vapor permeable, dampens sounds and eliminates air infiltration.
  • Closed cell spray foam insulation also works as an insulator and air barrier. An additional feature of closed cell spray foam is that it is solid. The cells of the bubbles remain intact (closed), which makes the product rigid. The closed cell composition and increased density contribute to a higher R-value than open cell foam. This can contribute to building stability during storms and high winds.

Mineral Wool

Mineral wool insulation offers the R-value found in other insulation products and is fire-resistant. Made of inorganic fibers derived from basalt, a volcanic rock, these materials are naturally fire-resistant. It can reduce the spread of a fire and provides valuable extra minutes to save people and property, and reduce environmental damage.
